Family Trees can be Revolutionary!

6:30 - Social time in the SVGS library
7:00 - Presentation in the Law Library

When you shake your family tree, sometimes you discover famous people--and sometimes you discover surprising tales of misadventure.

Steven Waugh's life journey started on the farm. He went to college thinking he wanted to work with animals. Graduating with a degree in animal husbandry, he spent his early career managing a pig co-op in Thor, Iowa. Then he realized he really didn't want to do this for the rest of his life. So, back to school.

After receiving a degree in computer programming, he went to work for The First National Bank in Sioux Falls and worked his way up to assistant vice president in charge of computer operations.

Steve will share what he learned about the horrors one branch of his family encountered when they chose the wrong ship to bring them to America and the important role another branch played in establishing our government following the Revolutionary War.
